VISION 2024

SPIRITUAL BEGINNING

On this year-end 2023 weekend, as we enter into the collective disconnect from work in the final leg of the year, here is a brief reflection as we step into the new year 2024.

Control Over Your Senses

Every year-end is a time to get-together with family & friends to celebrate the festivity around. This time also allows space for meditation & self-reflection. Without this space for inner tuning; full relaxation & recreation remains incomplete. Because the purpose of holidays is not only for emotional & physical recharge, but also for spiritual recharge.

But for some of you, this year ending may not be all that glitter & cheer typically associated with the season. It could be a challenging phase of struggle, navigating through a crisis, dealing with a terminal illness diagnosis, or mourning the loss of a loved one. Despite all the swings of life, there can be profound meaning that we all can bring out in our lives through spiritual re-connection.

From this vantage point of spiritual consciousness, we gain a more informed understanding about our aspirations & ultimate purpose in life, re-envisioning our lifestyle with Lord in the center.

Thus, in those strange, challenging, & unpleasant ‘what to do next’ moments, the wisdom of the Gita guides us to make the best possible move without being negatively influenced by the litany of data that keeps pouring into our headspace.

There is an inherent imbalance in both the aspects resulting in internal conflict. And this complexity can not always be explicitly conveyed to others, but has to be dealt all by oneself. In such a state, our expectations in a relationship for the same degree of reciprocation may not be necessarily available. Even when, Sita devi was in solitary confinement in Lanka, she anticipated Ram’s prompt return to rescue her. But, there were logistical issues, leading to a delay of almost 12 months. (On a side note: this was a well-intended delay—in the divine play—that ushered in wealth of wisdom outpouring for humanity to absorb). Yet, Sita devi didn’t gave up on Ram. She maintained unwavering faith in her selfless, unmotivated, and sacred love for him. Eventually they reunited.

Love is about appreciating the sanctity of life, accepting the presence of divinity in others, and acknowledging that every individual is a spiritual being on a human journey. Such an understanding forms a solid foundation for love to survive and thrive.
